Metropolitan Electricity Authority

The Metropolitan Electricity Authority(MEA) is a state-owned enterprise headquartered in Bangkok and operating under the Ministry of Interior. It was established in 1958 with the merger of the Bangkok Electric Works and the Electrical Division of the Public Works Department. MEA is responsible for distributing and selling electricity across Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Samut Prakan. The company’s main activities include power supply, system maintenance, and the development of smart grid and digital infrastructure.
