Centrica

Centrica, headquartered in Windsor, United Kingdom, is the largest domestic supplier of gas in the UK. It is also a leading provider of electricity and owns more than 20% of the country's nuclear power stations. It is part of the FTSE 100 Index and operates under the trading names Scottish Gas in Scotland, British Gas in England and Wales and Phoenix Gas in Northern Ireland. The company originated in 1812 with the incorporation of the Gas Light and Coke Company. It took on the name Centrica in 1997 when British Gas PLC demerged.
