Banco del Estado de Chile is a state-owned financial institution headquartered in Chile and founded in 1953. With the State as a significant shareholder through the Ministry of Finance, the bank provides a broad range of banking and financial services to individuals, businesses, and public entities, and is supervised by the Financial Market Commission. Its main activities include retail banking, mortgage lending, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises. The company was formed in 1953 through the merger of several state credit and savings institutions
