Research Lead Gender Benchmark

Melinda joined WBA in April 2020 to support the Gender Benchmark and assist in developing WBA’s broader research agenda, namely the Social Transformation and the SDG2000 workstreams. She believes that the private sector is instrumental in pursuing sustainable development, particularly with regard to improving people’s quality of life, and that benchmarking companies can help drive positive change.
With a background in development policy, Melinda began her career at the OECD working with the Development Assistance Committee, the Better Life Index team and the Secretary-General’s cabinet, where she was also involved in social impact investing and blended finance initiatives. To further engage private sector in advancing progress on the Sustainable Development Goals, Melinda joined the Business & Sustainable Development Commission as Research Manager and subsequently consulted for SystemiQ and WBA. Melinda holds a Masters in European Affairs from Sciences Po, Paris and a BA in Comparative Politics from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
