Itochu
Itochu is a multinational company involved in domestic and international trading of textiles, machinery, metals and minerals, energy, chemicals, food, and general products. The food business segment consists of provisions, fresh food, food product marketing and distribution divisions. Itochu procures wheat, barley, corn, soya beans, rice, palm oil and other agricultural products and supplies these to Japan and other countries in Asia. It also has its own manufacturing and processing activities. Through its network of companies and subsidiaries such as Prima Meat Packers, Itochu Sugar and FamilyMart, Itochu has activities spanning much of the food and agriculture value chain.
