Wadia Group (Bombay Burmah, Britannia Industries)

Wadia Group is one of India's oldest conglomerates, founded as a shipping and docking company in Bombay (Mumbai) in 1736. The group's diversified business portfolio now includes companies across aviation, real estate, retail, healthcare, engineering and chemicals, among others, with its food and agriculture activities predominantly existing under two subsidiaries. Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation, founded in 1863, operates tea and coffee plantations across southern India, as well as sites in Tanzania. Britannia Industries, founded in 1918, is a food processing company with a product portfolio including biscuits, bread, cakes, cheese, beverages, milk and yoghurts, available in five million retail outlets nationwide. The company also has an international presence, with global sales across North America, Europe, Africa and South East Asia making it one of India's largest food exporters.
