Segment ranking summary

Ferrero ranks 12th amongst agricultural products and commodities companies and 33th against food and beverage manufacturers/processors. Ferrero ranks relatively high in both segments across most of the measurement areas. However, it is not in the top grouping, demonstrating that the company has taken steps to address relevant sustainability topics, but is not a leader amongst its peers yet. The exception to this is in the social inclusion, where the company ranks top 5 amongst agricultural products and commodities and top 15 in food processors. Going forward, the company could increase its disclosure on environmental topics, such as water usage, food loss and waste, and more sustainable sourcing practices, topics its higher ranking peers have already demonstrated high disclosure on. Similarly, Ferrero could improve its ranking by providing quantitative metrics and time bound targets to support its disclosure on nutritional topics, such as promoting the accessibility and affordability of healthy foods.
