Segment ranking summary

REWE Group ranks 18th among food retailers and 54th in the food and beverage manufacturers/processors segment. While the company is in the upper middle grouping of companies, it is not a leader yet and there is room for improvement. Limiting the company’s performance is its disclosure in governance and strategy, where it ranks in the bottom grouping of companies. Moreover, REWE Group ranks poorly in social inclusion, due to limited disclosure on issues related to its supply chain, including how it monitors child and forced labour and the health and safety of vulnerable groups, areas its peers have started disclosing on. Nonetheless, the company performs well in nutrition, where it ranks in the top 10 among food retailers. Moreover, in environment, the company ranks in the middle grouping in both segments, due to good disclosure on topics like food loss and waste, presenting an opportunity for the company going forward.
