Yara
Yara is a chemical company primarily active in fertilizer production. Its main product is nitrogen fertilizer, but the company's product portfolio includes nitrogen-based chemicals such as ammonia, nitrates and urea. Yara's origins stretch back to 1905, when it started as Norsk Hydro, and was the first company to produce mineral nitrogen fertilizer, using hydroelectricity to extract nitrogen from the air. Yara spun off from Norsk Hydro in 2004, and today its largest shareholder is the Norwegian government, owning about a third of the company.
