Founded in 1996, Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) is the largest of its kind in Oman. In 2021, the company had over three million mobile and fixed subscribers in the country. Omantel is also the largest shareholder in Zain, a Kuwaiti-headquartered telecommunications operator providing services across the Middle East.
